ADELAIDE, Australia – Nissan has launched a new app on the eve of the debut race for the Nissan Altima V8 Supercars at the Clipsal 500 in Adelaide, South Australia this weekend.
Delivering on its promise of 'Innovation and Excitement for Everyone', the official Nissan Motorsport app puts the Altima V8 Supercar into the pocket of race fans via their smartphone.
The Nissan Motorsport app is available for download now, free of charge, from the Apple iTunes App Store ℠ (https://itun.es/au/dBbfK.i). The app can be found by searching for 'Nissan Motorsport'.
The app includes an Augmented Reality (AR) camera, driver profiles, full season calendar and full specification sheet for the Nissan Altima V8 Supercar.
When opened, the app takes users directly to the AR camera function. The user can then scan a Nissan Motorsport VIP card to see a 360 degree animation of the Altima V8 Supercar.
The Nissan Motorsport VIP card is available along with a lanyard from the Nissan activation area at selected V8 Supercars Championship events, including this week's Clipsal 500 in Adelaide, South Australia. A printable version of the VIP card can also be downloaded from http://bit.ly/NismoAppImage
Once the Nissan Motorsport VIP car is scanned, the Altima V8 Supercar will appear and allow users to:
- rotate the Altima V8 Supercar by swiping left or right
- turn the lights on by tapping the head lights
- start the Altima V8 Supercar and drive it off the screen in the direction it is facing by tapping the car
- turn on 'hotspots' on the car to view specifications by turning on the magnifying glass tool, then tapping those icons on the vehicle
- take a photo with the Altima V8 Supercar and share it on your Facebook page
