MELBOURNE, Australia – Nissan, the major partner of Australia's newest netball league, Suncorp Super Netball, and Australia's national netball team, the Diamonds, has announced an exciting competition for the country's most talented young players, Nissan Top Shot.
To celebrate Nissan's involvement with the popular Australian sport, Nissan Top Shot is a 12-week skills based competition that gives entrants the opportunity to win a cash prize of $25,000 for not only themselves but also a further $25,000 cash prize for their netball club or association. Competition participants simply need to share their best netball plays via Instagram or Twitter using #nissantopshot for a chance to win weekly prizes. Each week's winner will then be judged and the best judged entry will win the $50,000 major prize.
Weekly prizes include Nissan Netballs signed by Australian Diamonds players Caitlin Bassett and Jo Weston. The $50,000 major prize will be judged on June 1st 2017.
"Nissan's partnership with netball is a strong, natural fit," said Richard Emery, Managing Director and CEO of Nissan Australia. "More than one million people play this popular sport and Nissan's involvement with netball has been carefully designed to ensure we provide support across its complete breadth, including its extensive structure of local clubs. It's here you will find the sport"s best young talent and Nissan Top Shot is a great way to help showcase them."
Netball great Sharelle MacMahon praised Nissan for its Top Shot initiative.
"Nissan Top Shot is more than the generous rewards on offer," she said. "It gives netball's future stars another reason to go that extra mile in their playing performance, which ultimately pushes their skills and results, making them even better players. And with a major prize on offer for both the winning player and their club or association, this is great for the sport of netball."
The Nissan Top Shot competition starts Saturday March 4th 2017 and concludes Sunday May 28th 2017 with the major prize judged at the start of June this year.
