Introducing the New Nissan Navara
The new Nissan Navara arrives in Australian showrooms this month, marking the next chapter in a story that spans four decades. Since December 1986, close to 500,000 Navaras have been sold across the trans-Tasman markets, establishing the nameplate as one of the most trusted one-tonne utes in the region.
The fifth-generation Navara (D27) builds on a proven alliance platform from Mitsubishi, delivering notable suspension refinement honed by Premcar for customers and conditions across the Oceania region. The new Navara features a design that balances rugged heritage with modern sophistication, advanced technology and the reassurance of a 5-Star ANCAP safety rating.
At its foundation, the new Navara uses a proven alliance platform engineered for rigidity, refinement, and capability. This platform provides the structural basis for a 3500kg braked towing capacity§ and payload< exceeding 1000kg on the SL, ST and ST-X grades. A fully boxed ladder frame with high-strength steel reinforcement and welded cross-members delivers superior strength and rigidity, providing an excellent foundation for the locally tuned suspension to perform at its best.
"Over the past 40 years, nearly 500,000 Australian and New Zealand customers have placed their trust in the Navara nameplate. That legacy matters. That's why we partnered with our local engineering specialist, Premcar, to ensure the new Navara is the most capable and refined we've ever offered." — Andrew Humberstone, Managing Director, Nissan Oceania
Every grade of the new Navara benefits from a suspension system developed, thoroughly tested, and tuned by Premcar specifically for local conditions and customer requirements. The program saw the Navara driven across the full spectrum of Australian roads and terrain, resulting in three distinct suspension tunes calibrated for the diverse needs of Australian ute buyers.
Available in four Dual Cab 4x4 Pick-Up grades — SL, ST, ST-X and PRO-4X — from dedicated commercial applications through to lifestyle and recreational use. All grades are offered exclusively with six-speed automatic transmissions, reflecting the overwhelming preference of Australian buyers (with 90% of the outgoing D23 buyers having selecting a Dual Cab 4x4 Pickup).
Design Philosophy: Heritage-inspired, capable, forward-looking design
The new Navara's exterior design draws heavily on Nissan's brand DNA, incorporating signature elements that connect it to previous generations while pushing into a new, more advanced territory.
The design team was tasked with balancing four decades of Navara heritage with the evolving expectations of Australian and New Zealand buyers, who increasingly demand a vehicle that works as hard on weekends as it does during the week.
"When designing the new Navara, we're honouring nearly 40 years of heritage while creating something completely fresh for today's Australian and New Zealand buyers," said Ken Lee, Senior Design Director, Nissan Motor Corporation.
Key exterior design elements include:
Bull-Bar Inspired V-Strut Shield: The front fascia is anchored by a bold V-strut shield design that takes its visual cues from aftermarket bull bars — a nod to the accessories culture that defines Australian ute ownership.
Three-Slot Grille: The front end incorporates a nod to Nissan's heritage with three-slot design that pays tribute to the original D21 Navara.
C-Shaped Interlocking Lamp Design: Creates a unique daytime running and nighttime illumination profile around the standard LED projector headlights.
Navara Tailgate Badge: The tailgate features a prominent Navara badge treatment that serves as a signature rear-end identifier.
PRO-4X Design Differentiation
The range-topping PRO-4X features unique styling elements that distinguish it visually from other grades, communicating enhanced off-road capability while maintaining the sophisticated appeal that lifestyle buyers demand.
The exterior features a darkened theme with black design elements and 'Lava Red' accents that signal the PRO-4X's enhanced off-road capability and premium positioning. A black sports bar, black 17-inch wheels with 265/65R17 all-terrain tyres, wheel arch flares, roof rails, and a standard towbar complete the statement.
Interior Design
The New Navara's cabin represents a generational step forward in quality, space, and refinement — a deliberate response to the growing number of buyers who use their ute as a daily driver and family vehicle as much as a work tool.
All grades feature a spacious, thoughtfully appointed interior centred on a nine-inch multi-touch infotainment display and a seven-inch colour Advanced Drive-Assist Instrument Cluster, placing key vehicle information directly in the driver's line of sight. A multi-function steering wheel with controls for cruise, Bluetooth™
Practical touches reflect genuine consideration for how utes are used daily. All grades feature two 12-volt power outlets — one below the climate controls and one in the rear of the centre console — along with USB-A and USB-C connectivity for device charging and media. ST, ST-X, and PRO-4X grades add dedicated rear USB-A and USB-C ports on the back of the centre console for second-row passengers.
Rear air vents are standard across the range, circulating heated or cooled air to rear occupants through ceiling-mounted outlets; and two ISOFIX anchor points and two top-tether anchor points are fitted to all variants, providing flexibility for child seat configurations.
Grade-by-Grade Interior Differentiation
The SL and ST grades feature a durable grey cloth interior that balances comfort with workday practicality. The SL is fitted with hard-wearing vinyl flooring suited to muddy boots and jobsite conditions, while the ST steps up to carpet floor covering for a more refined everyday feel. The SL and ST feature a six-way manually adjustable driver's seat and four-way manual passenger seat.
The ST-X introduces a significant lift in interior ambience with two-tone leather-accented∞ seating in a black and grey combination. Front seats feature embroidered Navara markings with grey-accent stitching — a premium touch that underscores the grade's positioning as a genuine dual-purpose vehicle. The driver benefits from an eight-way electrically adjustable seat, complemented by heated front seats and dual-zone climate control for individualised comfort. Push-button engine start and Nissan's Intelligent Key™ system add everyday convenience.
The PRO-4X stands apart with its signature Lava Red accents that flow throughout the cabin — from the leather-accented∞ seats with embossed PRO-4X logos and red-accent stitching, through to high-contrast stitching on interior surfaces. It's a cohesive interior treatment that complements the exterior's darkened theme and red accents, reinforcing the PRO-4X's identity as the lifestyle flagship of the range.
Powertrain
All grades of the new Navara are powered by a proven 2.4-litre bi-turbo diesel engine delivering 150kW of power at 3500rpm and 470Nm of torque from just 1500rpm, matched to a wide-ratio six-speed automatic transmission. This represents a meaningful improvement over the outgoing D23: 10kW more power, 20Nm more torque, and 0.2L/100km better combined fuel economy — a rare trifecta of gains across the performance-efficiency spectrum.
The engine incorporates bi-turbo technology with a small high-pressure turbocharger and a large low-pressure turbocharger operating in sequence. At lower engine speeds, the smaller high-pressure turbo spools rapidly to deliver strong low-end torque and improved throttle response — particularly beneficial for loaded take-offs, towing and off-road driving. As engine speed increases, the larger low-pressure turbo progressively contributes to maintain performance and efficiency across the rev range.
The result is smooth, effortless acceleration regardless of load—a critical characteristic for a vehicle that must perform equally well unladen on a highway commute and fully loaded on a steep construction-site access road.
Combined-cycle fuel consumption of 7.7L/100 km# demonstrates the engine's efficiency across the driving spectrum, from urban delivery work to highway cruising with heavy loads.
Electronic Power Steering
The D27 Navara introduces Electronic Power Steering for the first time on the nameplate, replacing the outgoing model's hydraulic system. The rack-assist EPS system uses an electric motor integrated into the steering column, eliminating the parasitic losses associated with a conventional engine-driven hydraulic pump.
The system contributes to improved fuel efficiency and automatically adjusts steering effort to suit driving conditions — lighter at low speeds for easier manoeuvring in tight spaces such as carparks and loading bays, and firmer at highway speeds for confident, composed long-distance cruising.
This adaptability was a key input into Premcar's local suspension tuning program, allowing the engineers to optimise steering feel and response in conjunction with the damper calibration for each grade.
Transmission
The proven six-speed automatic transmission features a low first-gear ratio for confident off-the-line performance — particularly valuable when launching on inclines or pulling away with load or towing — multiple mid-range ratios for responsive overtaking, and a tall top gear for relaxed, fuel-efficient highway cruising. Manual mode allows direct gear selection via the shift lever for additional driver control when towing, descending steep terrain, or navigating challenging off-road conditions.
"The 2.4-litre bi-turbo diesel gives our customers the torque they need for real work — 470 Newton metres from just 1500 revs means you've got pulling power available exactly when you need it, whether you're merging onto a freeway with a loaded trailer or climbing a steep fire trail," said Andrew Humberstone, Managing Director, Nissan Oceania
Capability and Comfort
Every variant in the new Navara range achieves a braked towing capacity of 3500kg§ and SL, ST and ST-X grades offer a payload exceeding 1000kg<, providing genuine one-tonne ute capability. Unbraked towing is rated at 750kg, with a GVM of 3190kg, and GCM of 6250kg.
Off-Road Geometry
The new Navara's off-road geometry reflects meaningful improvement where it matters most for real-world capability. Ground clearance increases to 228mm — an 8mm gain over the outgoing model — while the departure angle improves to 22.8 degrees, a 2.2-degree increase that provides greater confidence when cresting obstacles and exiting steep terrain.
The ramp breakover angle of 23.4 degrees ensures composed transitions over ridges and crests, while the approach angle of 30.4 degrees provides confident entry into steep terrain.

Cargo Tray: Longer Where It Counts
The new Navara's cargo tray delivers meaningful gains in the areas that matter most for practical load carrying. Tray length increases by 46mm to 1555mm, providing additional room for standard building materials, pallets, and recreational equipment. Between the wheel arches — the critical measurement for loading standard Euro pallets, and bulky cargo — the tray is 1135mm wide.
Interior Roominess: More Space Where You Feel It
The new Navara delivers a notably more spacious cabin, with dimensional gains concentrated in the areas that most directly affect occupant comfort on long journeys.
Front shoulder room increases by 29mm to 1479mm — a gain that translates to a meaningfully less constrained driving position, particularly for larger occupants or when wearing bulky work clothing. In the rear, shoulder room grows by 4mm to 1145mm, while rear legroom improves by a substantial 42mm to 857mm — a generational step forward that transforms the second row from adequate to genuinely comfortable for adult passengers.
These gains are generous for the growing number of Navara buyers who use the vehicle as both a family car and a work vehicle. The additional rear legroom, in particular, addresses one of the most common criticisms of the outgoing model and positions the D27 as a genuine five-seat vehicle rather than a ute with a back seat.
Safety And Driver Assist Technology^
The new Navara delivers a comprehensive technology and safety package with an ANCAP 5-Star safety rating, eight airbags, and a comprehensive suite of advanced driver-assistance systems standard across every grade.
All grades feature the follows as standard:

Infotainment and Connectivity
All grades feature a nine-inch touchscreen display with Nissan's latest in-vehicle infotainment system, incorporating built-in satellite navigation as standard. For drivers venturing beyond mobile coverage — a common reality in regional and remote Australia — built-in navigation provides reliable guidance when smartphone-based mapping falls silent.
Wireless Apple CarPlay and wired Android Auto connectivity> enable seamless smartphone integration, with DAB digital radio expanding broadcast options beyond traditional FM. The infotainment system offers a modern, user-friendly interface with the ability to customise home menus and audio sources for quick access to the most frequently used features.
ST-X and PRO-4X grades add wireless smartphone chargingº, conveniently located within the lower instrument panel, eliminating cable clutter for compatible devices.
Driver Information
A seven-inch colour Advanced Drive-Assist Instrument Cluster sits centrally within the driver's binnacle, providing clear, at-a-glance access to digital speedometer, average speed and fuel economy, driving time, distance to empty, audio status, tyre pressure monitoring, and the status of Nissan's Intelligent Mobility safety systems.
Locally Tuned Suspension: Engineered for Australia
Every grade of the new Navara benefits from a suspension system developed, tested, and tuned by Australian automotive engineering firm Premcar, specifically for local conditions and customer requirements.
In addition to Nissan's own rigorous testing and evaluation, this extensive domestic engineering program saw the new Navara subjected to a comprehensive 12-month tuning and validation campaign.
This included an 18,500km sign-off trip that traversed some of the most demanding terrain in Australia — from the corrugated tracks of the outback to urban stop-start traffic with heavy loads. Crucially, this represents only a portion of the total program; separate durability testing was conducted on top of the sign-off distance, meaning the true scope of the engineering effort extends well beyond the headline figure.
Across the program, Premcar's engineers evaluated 137 damper codes and made more than 550 internal damper-shim changes to achieve optimal calibration for each variant.
"We made a deliberate decision to develop three distinct calibrations rather than a single compromise, because a tradesman loading a tonne of gear every morning has fundamentally different needs to someone towing a caravan to the coast on weekends," said Andrew Humberstone, Managing Director, Nissan Oceania
Customer-First Philosophy
Central to Premcar's approach to the new Navara was a philosophy that places the end customer at the centre of every tuning decision. Rather than optimising for a single condition or engineering preference, the team identified customer needs, then tuned accordingly.
That customer-first mindset guided foundational decisions, including the baseline load condition for each variant. For the work-focused SL and ST grades, baseline tuning was conducted with a considerable load in the tray — representative of the toolboxes and equipment a tradesperson carries daily. The lifestyle-oriented ST-X by contrast, was baselined with a driver and passenger onboard, a configuration reflecting its typical weekday commute scenario, then validated across the full loading bandwidth to ensure capability was never compromised.
"It's not about tuning to suit the engineer. It's about tuning for the customer that's going to end up walking into the dealer and buying the car. That determines everything — from what baseline load condition we start with to how we balance comfort against control," said Bernie Quinn, CEO/Engineering Director, Premcar.
This customer-centric approach also extended to towing performance. Rather than nominating a single grade as the 'towing variant' and optimising accordingly, Premcar ensured that towing assessment and validation was conducted across every grade in the range. The rationale was straightforward: the SL buyer towing a trailer loaded with tools of the trade deserves the same confidence and stability as the PRO-4X buyer towing a boat or caravan on weekends.
The Engineering Challenge
Tuning a one-tonne utility presents a complex engineering challenge. The suspension must perform from unladen kerb weight to gross vehicle mass and towing — a range no passenger car faces. Optimising for one condition can compromise performance at the other end.
Compounding this, the Navara range spans work-focused grades with 17-inch wheels and heavy-duty four-leaf rear springs to lifestyle variants riding on three-leaf rear springs with 17- or 18-inch tyres, each with unique dynamics and customer expectations.
Premcar was tasked with developing three purpose-built suspension calibrations targeting improved steering response, improved primary ride control, enhanced secondary ride comfort, and more linear handling behaviour each tuned to the specific role of its variant.
Key Technology: Internal Rebound Springs
A significant addition to the D27 Navara is the internal rebound spring fitted within the front dampers. This is a feature not commonly used on pick-ups and is absent from the standard variants of outgoing D23 Navara.
In conventional damper tuning, engineers face a persistent trade-off: increasing damping force improves steering response and roll control, but it traditionally comes at the expense of secondary ride comfort — the 'choppiness' or harshness felt over smaller surface imperfections. The internal rebound spring provides an additional lever to manage this compromise.
By using the rebound spring to control body roll at the front axle, Premcar's engineers were able to reduce rebound damping force without sacrificing steering linearity. The result is a better balance between secondary ride comfort and roll control than would be achievable with traditional damping alone.
"When you've got the internal rebound spring in there, you can actually take some damping force out and control roll with the spring instead. That means you get a better compromise between comfort and steering response — compared to a car that doesn't have internal rebound springs," said Bernie Quinn, CEO/Engineering Director, Premcar.
The benefits extend beyond cornering. The rebound spring also contributes to improved pitch control — the fore-and-aft rocking motion is particularly noticeable when towing. By promoting a flatter, more composed response to road inputs, the system enhances both comfort and stability when a trailer is coupled.
Three Distinct Tunes
Eschewing a one-size-fits-all approach, Premcar developed three distinct suspension calibrations for the new Navara, each engineered for the specific driving profile and use case of its target buyer.
Tune 1: SL and ST — The Workhorse
The SL and ST grades represent the working heart of the Navara range, and suspension is tuned to reflect that role. These variants ride on 17-inch wheels, heavy-duty four-leaf rear springs and are fitted with the internal rebound spring technology in the front dampers.
Premcar established the baseline tuning condition with a considerable load in the tray — representative of the toolboxes, equipment, and materials a tradesperson carries on a daily basis. The objective was to ensure the vehicle feels composed and confident in its most typical laden state, not merely acceptable when empty.
A key focus was keeping the suspension off the bump stops under normal working loads. Repeated bump-stop contact produces the sharp, jarring impacts that make a loaded ute unpleasant to drive and, over time, can accelerate damage to cargo and compromise the durability of the suspension and chassis systems.
The internal rebound spring in the front dampers plays a critical role in this tune. Despite the focus on laden performance, the engineering team maintained steering response, handling balance, and pitch control with no compromise, ensuring the SL and ST remain composed and controlled right through to gross vehicle mass and towing.

Tune 2: ST-X — The All-Rounder
The ST-X occupies the versatile middle ground of the Navara range — the weekday workhorse that doubles as the weekend family vehicle. Its suspension tune reflects this dual-use brief, starting from a different baseline loading configuration to the work-focused grades.
Premcar established the ST-X's baseline at a two-up occupant condition: driver and passenger, representing the typical weekday commute or business trip. From that starting point, the team optimised steering response and comfort, then validated performance progressively through to full payload and towing to ensure the vehicle remained capable and controlled across its entire operating envelope.
A defining characteristic of the ST-X is its 18-inch wheel and tyre package, which pairs with three-leaf rear springs. The larger wheel and correspondingly smaller tyre sidewall demanded particular attention to secondary ride quality — the surface-level harshness that low-profile rubber tends to transmit.
Premcar's engineers invested significant effort in damper calibration to compensate for the reduced sidewall compliance, using the internal rebound spring technology to recover comfort without sacrificing the control needed when the vehicle is loaded.
"The 18-inch wheel with a smaller sidewall meant we had to really think about secondary ride. As you make it more comfortable to compensate, you have to keep in mind that once you load the vehicle up, you can't have it moving around too much. The rebound springs allowed for that comfort while still helping restrict movement under load," said Bernie Quinn, CEO/Engineering Director, Premcar.
Towing capability was validated to the same standard as every other grade in the range. Whether the ST-X buyer is towing a boat, a caravan, or a jet-ski trailer on a weekend escape, the suspension delivers the same composed, confidence-inspiring behaviour.

Tune 3: PRO-4X — The Adventurer
The PRO-4X sits at the lifestyle and recreational pinnacle of the Navara range, and its suspension calibration is uniquely configured to reflect its adventure-oriented character.
While it shares the same ride height as other variants in the lineup, the PRO-4X employs a unique combination: a three-leaf rear spring, 17-inch wheels, and all-terrain tyres.
This configuration delivers what Premcar describes as the 'best of both worlds.' The three-leaf rear spring provides a softer, more compliant ride suited to varied terrain, while the 17-inch wheel and its correspondingly larger tyre sidewall contribute greater impact absorption, improved secondary ride quality, and enhanced off-road durability. The all-terrain tyre further extends the vehicle's capability on unsealed surfaces.
Crucially, the suspension tune was calibrated to enable freer articulation for off-road operation, allowing the wheels to follow undulating terrain more closely while maintaining composed on-road behaviour. The result is a vehicle equally at home navigating a rutted fire trail as it is cruising sealed highways.
The PRO-4X tune was directly informed by Premcar's work on the previous-generation Navara Warrior. The D23 Warrior was included in the target-setting activity for the D27 program, alongside a range of competitive benchmarks.
The Warrior's proven capability in the hands of Australian recreational users provided a clear performance reference for the PRO-4X, with the team applying the same customer-identification methodology: understand who the buyer is, understand how they'll use the vehicle, and engineer a tune that meets those needs with confidence.

Roll Control and Steering Linearity
A recurring theme across all three suspension calibrations is the pursuit of linear roll rate response to steering input. In practical terms, this means the vehicle's body roll builds progressively and proportionally as the driver increases steering angle and corresponding lateral load — rather than exhibiting a sudden initial roll that then stabilises, creating an unsettling, non-linear sensation.
Non-linear roll behaviour is a common characteristic of utes in the segment, where the suspension quickly tips into roll before catching itself. This makes the vehicle feel less predictable and erodes driver confidence, particularly when laden or towing.
Premcar targeted this explicitly across all three tunes, using a combination of damper calibration and the internal rebound spring to achieve a steering response that feels connected and confidence-inspiring at any load.
Built on Strong Foundations
Premcar is clear that the D27 Navara's fundamental suspension architecture provides an excellent foundation. Their tuning program set out to take inherently capable hardware and calibrate it precisely for the demands of Australian customers and conditions.
Testing and Validation
The validation program took the new Navara across some of the most challenging and varied terrain in Australia, with the 18,500km sign-off trip representing severely accelerated durability conditions — meaning the effective wear and stress equivalent far exceeds the headline distance.
"These utes need to carry a lot, so Premcar tested every way you can think of. The aim is simple — to deliver a ute that feels good in every possible Australian scenario for every possible customer," said Bernie Quinn, CEO/Engineering Director, Premcar.

Two Available 4WD Systems to Support Every Adventure
The new Navara offers two distinct four-wheel drive systems, ensuring every grade delivers genuine off-road capability while providing enhanced sophistication for buyers who demand it. All grades feature an electronic locking rear differential as standard — a feature that underscores Nissan's commitment to delivering authentic 4x4 capability across the entire range.
For added convenience, both systems support shift-on-the-fly engagement, allowing the driver to switch from 2H to 4H at speeds up to 100km/h without stopping — a practical advantage when conditions change unexpectedly on regional roads.
All grades also benefit from Active Brake Limited Slip, which individually controls braking at each of the four wheels to optimise traction in challenging conditions. Unlike a traditional differential that directs power to the path of least resistance, ABLS applies braking to spinning wheels and redirects power to those with the most surface contact — an effective traction aid that works across all four wheels, not just the primary driven pair.
Easy 4WD (SL, ST)
The Easy 4WD system provides selectable part-time four-wheel drive with a dual-range transfer case. Three drive configurations are available: 2H (two-wheel drive) for everyday on-road driving with optimal fuel efficiency; 4H (four-wheel drive high range) for additional traction on slippery surfaces, rough terrain, or as a precautionary measure in deteriorating conditions; and 4L (four-wheel drive low range) for maximum torque multiplication in extreme off-road situations, steep climbs, thick mud, or water crossings.
The electronic rear differential lock is available at the press of a button when in 4L, forcing both rear wheels to turn in unison regardless of available traction — providing the ultimate last resort for the most challenging terrain. Hill Start Assist is standard, holding the vehicle for up to two seconds on inclines to prevent rollback.
Super 4WD (ST-X, PRO-4X)
ST-X and PRO-4X grades step up to the Super 4WD system, which introduces a Torsen® limited-slip centre differential for intelligent all-wheel-drive capability in 4H mode.
In this configuration, drive is distributed in a 40:60 front-to-rear ratio, with the Torsen® differential continuously optimising torque distribution to enhance cornering stability and provide seamless traction on varying surfaces — a meaningful advantage for towing on wet roads, navigating rain-swept highways, or traversing gravel roads.
Four drive configurations are available: 2H for rear-wheel-drive efficiency; 4H with the Torsen® all-wheel-control system active; 4HLc, which locks the centre differential for a fixed 50:50 front-to-rear torque split on more demanding terrain; and 4LLc, combining low-range gearing with the centre differential lock for maximum traction and torque multiplication in extreme conditions.
Hill Descent Control is available on Super 4WD models, maintaining a controlled speed when descending steep off-road terrain at up to 20km/h in both drive and reverse. The system allows the driver to concentrate on steering and line selection rather than managing brake and throttle inputs on steep, loose descents.
Seven Terrain Modes
A Drive Mode Selector on ST-X and PRO-4X provides seven terrain-specific driving modes, each optimising engine torque, transmission shift patterns, traction control, and all-wheel-drive behaviour for the surface at hand:

Why Super 4WD Matters for Recreational Buyers
The practical advantage of Super 4WD for lifestyle buyers lies in the Torsen® all-wheel-drive capability in 4H mode. Unlike the Easy 4WD system, which requires the driver to manually select 4WD when conditions change, the Super 4x4 system in 4H continuously manages torque distribution between front and rear axles.
Towing a boat on a wet highway, encountering an unexpected gravel section on a rural road, or navigating a rain-soaked campsite access track — the system adapts without the driver having to think about it.
For the weekend adventurer who may not be an experienced off-roader, the terrain response modes simplify decision-making. Select the appropriate mode for the surface and the vehicle manages throttle response, traction control, shift patterns, and braking to keep the vehicle moving safely and confidently. It transforms what could be an intimidating off-road experience into a managed, confidence-inspiring one.
"The beauty of Super 4WD is that it takes the guesswork out of changing conditions. In Auto mode, the system manages torque distribution between front and rear axles continuously, so whether you're towing a boat on a wet highway or hitting a gravel road on the way to a campsite, the vehicle adapts without the driver having to think about it," said Andrew Humberstone, Managing Director, Nissan Oceania.

Up to 10 years or 300,000 kilometres of roadside assistance is available when servicing with Nissan dealers, ensuring comprehensive support for the life of the vehicle.%
Genuine Accessories
The Navara is supported by an extensive range of Nissan Genuine Accessories, each designed and developed to ensure perfect integration and quality. All Nissan Genuine Accessories are manufactured to Nissan's quality standards, tested to comply with applicable Australian Design Rules and Australian Standards, and covered by the Nissan MORE warranty when fitted by a Nissan dealer∑.
The accessory range spans heavy-duty protection solutions including bull bars (hooped and hoopless, manufactured in Australia), nudge bar with optional integrated LED light bar, rear protection bar, and underbody bash plates. Lifestyle and utility enhancements include a genuine snorkel, heavy-duty side steps, fender flares, roof bars and cross bars, canopies in single-colour or two-tone finishes with integrated central locking, and both soft and hard tonneau covers. A Nissan Genuine towbar rated at 3500kg with 350kg download limit and integrated seven-pin flat connector is also available and is standard son the PRO-4X.
This commitment to local evaluation for accessories mirrors the vehicle's own development philosophy, ensuring components are optimised for Australian conditions and customer requirements.
"Ownership confidence matters as much as capability. Nissan MORE means a new Navara buyer can look at up to ten years of warranty coverage and roadside assistance, and five years of flat-price servicing — that's a level of commitment that reflects how seriously we take the ownership experience," said Andrew Humberstone, Managing Director, Nissan Oceania
Model Walk
"We know Australian ute buyers compare spec sheets carefully, and we're confident the new Navara rewards that scrutiny. Across every grade, we've ensured the equipment level delivers genuine substance — features like an electronic rear diff lock on entry grade, a factory sports bar on the ST and above, and a towbar fitted to the PRO-4X aren't afterthoughts or options. They're standard for those grades, because that's what our customers expect," said Andrew Humberstone, Managing Director, Nissan Oceania.
Navara SL — from $53,348ø
The Navara SL establishes a strong foundation for the range, delivering genuine capability and a standard equipment level that exceeds what buyers would typically expect at this price point in the segment.
Key standard features include an electronic locking rear differential, Easy 4WD with dual-range transfer, tailgate assist for easier cargo access, and a full suite of ANCAP 5-Star safety systems including Intelligent Emergency Braking, Around View Monitor with Moving Object Detection, Driver Monitoring System, and Intelligent Cruise Control.
Notably, the SL is one of few entry-grade utes in the segment to offer an electronic locking rear differential as standard — a feature that typically requires stepping up a grade or ticking an options box with other manufacturers.
The cabin is equipped with a nine-inch infotainment display with built-in navigation, wireless Apple CarPlay and wired Android Auto>, DAB digital radio, and a seven-inch colour TFT instrument cluster. A durable grey cloth interior with vinyl flooring suits the SL's workday brief, while the six-way manually adjustable driver's seat provides a comfortable driving position for long shifts. USB-A and USB-C ports are provided for device connectivity and charging, along with two 12-volt power outlets.
The exterior features LED headlights, LED daytime running lights, LED tail lights (select variants only), high beam assist, electric adjustable mirrors, and headlamp levelling. Combined with the Premcar-tuned suspension fitted to every Navara, the SL delivers a level of engineered capability that belies its entry-level positioning.
Navara ST — from $56,765ø
The Navara ST adds meaningful interior refinement and comfort features suited to buyers who spend longer hours behind the wheel, delivering a cabin experience that punches above its weight relative to similarly priced competitors in the segment.
Stepping up from the SL, the ST adds a carpeted floor covering instead of vinyl, a leather-accented∞ steering wheel, privacy glass for the rear compartment, and an auto-dimming rear-view mirror that reduces glare from following vehicles during nighttime driving. LED fog lights enhance visibility in challenging weather conditions, while factory-fitted side steps provide easier cabin access and a more premium exterior presence. Electric folding heated mirrors add day-to-day convenience, particularly for on-street parking or tight garages. A standard sportsbar on ST, ST-X and PRO-4X models add to the Navara's practical appeal.
Rear-seat passengers benefit from dedicated USB-A and USB-C charging ports on the back of the centre console. These are features that are not universally standard at this price point in the one-tonne ute segment, and together with the Premcar-tuned suspension they deliver a distinctly more refined package than buyers may be accustomed to.
The ST 4WD variant retains the SL's Easy 4WD drivetrain with dual-range transfer case, electronic rear differential lock, and the complete ANCAP 5-Star safety suite.
Navara ST-X — from $63,177ø
The Navara ST-X represents a significant step up in both capability and equipment, adopting the Super 4WD system with Torsen® centre differential and seven terrain modes, and adding factory-fitted accessories that deliver genuine added value compared to equivalent offerings in the segment.
A factory-fitted sports bar — an item typically purchased as a dealer-fit accessory costing upwards of $1000 — (standard on the ST, ST-X and PRO-4X) is available alongside a tub liner for cargo protection and tailgate assist. Even before you consider the cost of bespoke suspension tuning as an aftermarket option, factoring in the above inclusions, the ST-X's price-to-equipment ratio provides compelling consumer value.
Inside, the cabin takes a significant step upmarket with two-tone leather-accented∞ seating in black and grey, featuring embroidered Navara markings with grey-accent stitching. The eight-way electrically adjustable driver's seat and heated front seats deliver genuine daily comfort, while dual-zone climate control allows driver and passenger to set individual temperatures.
Push-button engine start and Nissan's Intelligent Key system provide keyless convenience, and wireless smartphone chargingº eliminates cable clutter for compatible devices.
The Super 4WD drivetrain introduces Torsen® all-wheel control in 4H for enhanced on-road traction and stability, along with 4HLc and 4LLc modes for more demanding terrain. Seven drive modes — Normal, Eco, Gravel, Snow, Mud, Sand, and Rock — allow the driver to tailor the vehicle's behaviour to the surface at hand. Hill Descent Control adds controlled low-speed descents to the ST-X's off-road repertoire.
The ST-X rides on 18-inch alloy wheels paired with a dedicated Premcar suspension calibration that balances unladen comfort with full-bandwidth laden capability.
Navara PRO-4X — from $68,418ø
The range-topping Navara PRO-4X delivers the most comprehensively equipped Navara ever offered and sets a new benchmark for standard equipment at this level of the ute market. Distinctive styling, the most capable Premcar suspension tune, and a factory-fitted towbar mean it's ready for adventure from day one.
The PRO-4X also adds wheel arch flares and roof rails as standard, further reducing the post-purchase accessory spend.
The darkened exterior theme with Lava Red accents creates immediate visual distinction: black 17-inch alloy wheels with 265/65R17 all-terrain tyres, a black sports bar, and black exterior trim elements. Inside, the signature Lava Red treatment flows through the leather-accented∞ seats with embossed PRO-4X logos and red-accent stitching, complemented by high-contrast stitching throughout the cabin.
The PRO-4X shares the 4WD ST-X's Super 4WD drivetrain with seven terrain modes, Hill Descent Control, and the full technology and comfort suite including wireless smartphone chargingº, heated seats, dual-zone climate, and push-button start.
What sets it apart dynamically is the unique Premcar suspension calibration — pairing the 17-inch wheel and all-terrain tyre with three-leaf springs for greater impact absorption, improved secondary ride quality, and freer off-road articulation. Combined with the full suite of technology and comfort features, the PRO-4X delivers a generous level of specification at its price point.
