SYDNEY, Australia – Nissan Australia will be a stand-out at the 2012 Australian International Motor Show in Sydney, Australia.

Headlining Nissan's stand are two flagship nameplates for the Nissan brand in Australia, with the first local viewing of the all-new Nissan Pulsar sedan and Nissan Patrol.

"The announcements and models, both current and upcoming, that will be exhibited on the Nissan stand at this year's Australian International Motor Show emphasise just how exciting the future is for Nissan in Australia," said Nissan Australia Managing Director and CEO William F Peffer Jr.

"We are excited to be showing the all-new Pulsar sedan and the all-new Patrol to the public, which is an enormous occasion for Nissan given that these are two of the most iconic nameplates in the Australian automotive landscape.

"With sales success stories like Navara, X-TRAIL and DUALIS on display as well as head-turning cars like our LEAF and GT-R, we feel that Nissan will deliver on its promise of 'Innovation and Excitement for Everyone' at this year's Australian International Motor Show."

All New Nissan Pulsar Sedan

The Nissan Pulsar is back.

One of the most recognised and loved nameplates in the Australian automotive landscape returns in 2013 when Nissan launches the Pulsar sedan, the first model in the reintroduction of the Pulsar range to Australia and the second in a three-car 'sedan renaissance' for Nissan Australia.

The Pulsar sedan shares styling cues such as its grille with the smaller Almera sedan and the medium-size Altima. The Altima, which goes on-sale in Australia in the second half of 2013, is already a stunning sales success in North America.

The Pulsar sedan goes on sale from February 2013 priced from $19,990 (plus on-road costs).

First Look – All New Nissan Pulsar SSS Hatch

Certain to turn heads at this year's Australian International Motor Show is the all new Nissan Pulsar SSS hatch, making its Australian public premiere. Nissan has confirmed the iconic SSS name will again feature in its line-up when Pulsar returns to Australia from 2013.

The striking SSS will feature a four cylinder, double overhead cam (DOHC), turbocharged engine with direct injection gasoline (DIG) technology producing 140kW power and 240Nm of torque. The all-new Pulsar SSS hatch will be equipped with either a six-speed manual or CVT transmission and will go on-sale in Australia with other Pulsar hatch variants in mid-2013.

All New Nissan Patrol

The all-new Nissan Patrol is the new benchmark for luxury and ultimate performance, on and off-road.

It introduces a new platform, a radical design direction, significantly enhanced interior comfort and luxury, a powerful new V8 engine with exceptional driveability, a new seven-speed automatic transmission as well as a new ALL-MODE 4x4 system.

The much-vaunted member of the Nissan family has been comprehensively reinvented. While the look is all new and all luxury, the same iconic Patrol capability that carried the nameplate for 60 years and six generations remains and has been refined and improved, with independent suspension all-round and Hydraulic Body Motion Control on the Ti and Ti-L grades.

The 2013 Nissan Patrol is priced from $82,200 plus on road costs for the ST-L grade, Ti at $92,850 plus on road costs and Ti-L from $113,900 plus on road costs.

GT-R

Nissan will preview the 2013 GT-R at the Australian International Motor Show, displaying a prototype version of the MY13 edition on its stand in Sydney. The latest evolution of the GT-R, due to be unveiled in Japan in early November, will feature updates including engine fine tuning, suspension to deliver improved dynamic performance, as well as new luxury interior features.

The improvements reaffirm Nissan's commitment to continually develop and refine the GT-R, as outlined by Nissan entering a production GT-R in the 2012 Nurburgring 24 Hour endurance classic at the demanding Nordschleife circuit in Germany to bring additional learning to the engineering team for development.

LEAF

The world's first mass-produced, purpose-built, 100 percent electric, Zero Petrol car, the Nissan LEAF, will not only be on display at the Australian International Motor Show, visitors will have the chance to test it on a special car dyno.

Launched in Australian in June this year, the LEAF was judged won both World Car of the Year and European Car of the Year honours in 2011. The family-sized hatch brings Electric Vehicle technology into the mainstream with high levels of technology, drivability, styling and performance.

Almera, Navara, X-TRAIL, DUALIS, Micra, 370Z, Pathfinder, Murano

Also on display at the Australian International Motor Show will be Nissan's newly launched light sedan, the Almera, along with the Navara, Australia's most powerful tradie and the second-highest selling light commercial vehicle in Australia.
